Frequently Asked Questions

How should I prepare for a facial? *Stop use of retinol and exfoliants four to seven days prior to your appointment. *Let your esthetician know if you’re on any oral/topical medications for skin. *Update your esthetician on any new health history changes. *Wear comfortable clothing you can easily change in and out of.

What is a Hydrafacial? Hydra-facial is a four step treatment designed to restore a more youthful complexion that begins with exfoliation of dry dead skin with a salycillic acid and microdermabrasion followed by a deep extraction of dirt, sebum and blackheads. Next step is an oxygen infusion of serum selected for client’s specific skin needs, finishing with a cryo-wand treatment to cool and tighten the skin. This facial leaves the skin refreshed, extremely hydrated and firm.

What is ProCell? Procell microchanneling is the next generation of microneedling. It is designed to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, sagging and discoloration. Studies have shown that conventional micro needling which is dragged across the skin can damage and tear the skins surface. Microchanneling microneedling uses a process that stamps the skin in a motion that creates the microchannels by going straight in and coming straight out there by creating an intentional injury to the under layers of the dermis triggering a healing response without causing surface tearing. A human growth protein serum is applied while this treatment takes place that penetrates deep in the channels enhancing the healing process. A mask is applied after the treatment to calm and hydrate the skin and the client will receive an after care kit to do at home. A minimum of three treatments or more is recommended for the desired results.

What is a peel? A chemical peel is designed to remove layers of surface skin and create cell turn over revealing smoother, softer healthier skin, resulting in significant reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration. Our peels vary from application of a mild 10% peel during a facial, an AHA peel that penetrates a little deeper and may cause some temporary redness that usually resolves in a couple of hours. The TCA peel is a stronger peel that is applied in the salon then the client will begin to see peeling two to three days later that will last from 4 to seven days. This peel results in significant improvement on the area. It is a great peel for face, neck and décolletage. Any of these peels MUST be followed by wearing sunscreen to protect the skin after the treatment and is recommended always to prevent further damage.
